A bit about me
I’m Kelli Rua Klein, and Sky Oak & Stone is my creative studio for art, story, and learning from wild places. My work is shaped by a life of curiosity and relationship with the natural world — from growing up in 4H with horses in the Midwest, to creating a backyard native habitat in the city, to stewarding 40 remote acres of conifer forest and oak savanna in Southern Oregon. Along the way, I’ve lived in different parts of the United States, traveled internationally, and remained an insatiable student of both the human and natural worlds. I’ve come to believe deeply in the importance of the earth, the ecosystems that sustain us, and the unique perspective each of us brings to the places we care for.
What I offer here is an invitation to slow down, notice more, and build a more meaningful relationship with the natural place you care for.
What Shapes This Work?
Lived Relationship with the Land
My work grows from real experience across different landscapes and seasons — not just theory, but years of observing, experimenting, making mistakes, beginning again, and learning from place over time.
Story, Art, and Learning Together
I don’t believe everything is best understood through instruction alone. Sometimes art, storytelling, and nature can open the door to deeper curiosity, clearer seeing, and a stronger relationship with the natural world.
Approachable and Real
The reflections and learning I share here are practical, accessible, and grounded in lived experience. They are meant to meet people where they are — whether they are just beginning, beginning again, or looking for a more thoughtful way to approach the land and life around them.
Accessible, Modular Learning
The courses I offer are designed to be short, practical, and rooted in real-world experience. My goal is to create learning that is approachable, flexible, and easy to apply — so people can follow their curiosity and begin where they are.
